WRITING
Plays
Developed through a solo character workshop in 2012 under the guidance of Kirsten Rasmussen (Band Ladies, Slow pitch, Second City), Sehar penned and starred in her inaugural one-woman comedy. The piece centred on Stella, a hoarder, living in a cramped apartment, grappling with the need to conceal her secret, Little did Sehar anticipate, she would revisit this script a few years later.

Total Liquidation (2015, 2016)
In 2015, Sehar received an invitation from Lar Simms (Shadow Waltz, Gettin’ Plorpy), who had watched her solo comedy back in 2012 and was inspired to incorporate her character Stella into a new narrative. Collaborating closely, they co-wrote and performed in "Total Liquidation." Story edited and directed by Brent Skagford, this whimsical comedy, with a touch of magical realism explored an unlikely friendship between Stella and Hamhock Velvet, Lar’s character, and the mutual support that blossomed. The play premiered at the Montreal Fringe Festival in 2015, earning a remount in February 2016 at Theatre Ste-Catherine.

Joketown (2015-2017)
Sehar was a frequent writer and performer in DJ Mausner’s brainchild, Joketown. This monthly show brought Montreal's best artist-comedians-actors together to write, produce, and perform 4 original comedies in just 4 days, fostering a spirit of collaboration and non-attachment to our writing. Themes and sub-themes were assigned, scripts were submitted, and the final productions showcased for audience votes where the winning play and its writer earned the title of "mayor" of Joketown. Sehar wrote a total of 9 plays, securing the winner’s spot 3 times.
